My favorite place I have ever been in is definitely Thailand. I went there last Christmas and my experience was awesome. We spent a few days in a very nice resort on the beach and a few days in the amazing city of Bangkok.
In this entry I am sharing recommendations that can be useful for those planning a trip to Thailand, but I am also adding links and pictures so you can enjoy reading and getting to know those places.
The resort is located near Krabi. It's a great location because you can do many different things. Take a look at the resort here https://www.theshellseakrabi.com
One of my favorite trip there is taking a fast boat to Phi Phi islands, there are incredible beaches and amazing snorkeling spots. Many famous movies like James Bond and The beach have been filmed in those locations. Check this links and pictures, it's like being in a movie!

I'd also recommend going to an elephant sanctuary. Make sure you go to an ethical and responsible one where they treat Elephants well and take care of them. Ask in the hotel reception, they can provide good advice.
You'd enjoy the day with the elephants, you learn a lot about them, you can walk with them, share a bath session in the river, and learn how to prepare their food and medicines.
You should spend one day just relaxing on the incredible beaches of Thailand and enjoying different activities the hotel offer. Going paddle surfing or cycling around the streets in order to observe the condition in which some people leave can also impress you.

You cannot leave Krabi without visiting some buddhist temple. Tiger temple is in a buddhist "city" where you can discover this new culture with different temples and monkeys around you.
This main temple is located on top of a mountain so it can only be seen by brave and strong people that are able to walk the stairs with approximately 3000 steps that are not that easy to go up those stairs with 30 degrees making you sweating, so if you really want to do it, I recommend you to do it very early in the morning, when it is not that hot.
